La Fortuna Waterfall (Spanish for "the fortune") is in central Costa Rica, in the Alajuela Province.In Spanish, it is known as Catarata Fortuna.The waterfall drops about 70−75 meters and is at the base of the dormant Chato volcano, about 5.5 km outside of the town of La Fortuna, near the Arenal Volcano.
uMhlanga derives its name from the Zulu language and means "place of reeds", referring to the beds of reeds growing along the Ohlanga River north of uMhlanga Rocks. [3] [4] The Oyster Box, a luxury hotel since the 1950s, was built as a beach cottage in 1869, before the town had even been founded. In 1895, Sir Marshall Campbell founded uMhlanga.

Arenal is often cited by scientists as being in the top 10 or top 20 of the world's most active volcanoes. [5] [6] [7] La Fortuna is less than 10 kilometres (6 mi) from the 5,480 feet (1,670 m) peak of Arenal and less than 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the Arenal Volcano National Park entrance, which is west of the peak, whereas La Fortuna is east of the peak.

The uMhlanga Rocks Lighthouse was completed in 1954 and stands on the beach in uMhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. It is unmanned and active. The round concrete tower is white below and red above. The lighthouse is 21 m high and has a focal plane of 25 m above the high water mark.
