Shrewsbury School is a public school in Shrewsbury.. Founded in 1552 by Edward VI by royal charter, [1] to replace the town's Saxon collegiate foundations which were disestablished in the sixteenth century, Shrewsbury School is one of the seven public schools subject to the Public Schools Act 1868 and one of the nine schools reviewed by the Clarendon Commission between 1861 and 1864.
It is the only public high school in the Shrewsbury Public Schools district. It is a large school offering a wide variety of electives and extracurricular activities. Shrewsbury High School placed 27th in the list of 21,035 high schools that U.S News reviewed in 2013. [citation needed] The current principal is Todd Bazydlo.

Shrewsbury (/ˈʃruzberi/ SHROOZ-bury) is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 38,325 according to the 2020 United States Census, in nearly 15,000 households. [1] Incorporated in 1727, Shrewsbury prospered in the 19th century due to its proximity to Worcester, and from visitors to Lake Quinsigamond.
The school has no sixth form, but is in partnership with the Shrewsbury Colleges Group, which was created by the merging of the two main local further education institutions (Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Shrewsbury College), which the large majority of pupils go on to attend. The school was granted Academy status in June 2012.
