Ajay Kumar ( born 2 October 1962) is the former Defence Secretary of India. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] He is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1985 batch. Kumar is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the University of Minnesota .
