The Royal Gorge Route Railroad is a heritage railroad based in Cañon City, Colorado. A 1950s-era train makes daily 2-hour excursion runs from the Santa Fe Depot through the Royal Gorge along a famous section of the former Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad .

Dwain Weston (31 January 1973 – 5 October 2003) was an Australian skydiver, BASE jumper, wingsuiter and software developer. On 5 October 2003, at the end of the inaugural Go Fast Games, Weston died while attempting to fly over the Royal Gorge Bridge near Cañon City, Colorado, United States.
The first documented evidence of Mather's career occurred in 1879, when he was recruited by lawman Bat Masterson to serve in a posse to enforce the claims of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway during the Royal Gorge Railroad War.
