Suicide Season is the second studio album by British rock band Bring Me the Horizon. It was released on 29 September 2008 in the United Kingdom and Europe through Visible Noise . The band signed a licensing deal with Epitaph Records on 11 September 2008, with the label releasing the album on 18 November 2008 in the United States.
"Chelsea Smile" has been identified as evidence of Bring Me the Horizon's musical development on Suicide Season; Exclaim! writer Dave Synyard praised it, alongside "It Was Written in Blood", for featuring "catchier rhythms, lessened guttural vocals and more structured songwriting, as opposed to reverting to a technical onslaught of guitar riffs". [3]
The tour was not problem-free. On 28 April, Matt Nicholls broke his arm while playing football with members of Bring Me the Horizon, Parkway Drive, and Architects; instead of cancelling the tour, Architects' drummer Dan Searle filled in, causing the length of Bring Me the Horizon's set list to be halved. Like the band's previous single, "Disengage" the single is released as a 7" inch vinyl in limited edition, but is also available for download via iTunes, [1] and features a dubstep-influenced remix of the song handled by Cameron "Big Chocolate" Argon as well as the album version of the track.
