The district included buildings and structures associated with the Riverside Division, one of two historic textile mill complexes in Danville. The building and structures are characterized by multistory industrial buildings of mostly brick construction. Dan River Mill No. 8 is a four-story, reinforced concrete building constructed in the 1920s.
The city of Purcell is directly across the river from Lexington, connected by U.S. Route 77. US 77 leads north from Lexington 16 miles (26 km) to Norman and 38 miles (61 km) to the center of Oklahoma City. Cotton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,527. [1] Its county seat is Walters. [2] When Oklahoma achieved statehood in 1907, the area which is now Cotton County fell within the boundaries of Comanche County. [3]
