The first. as classified by the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED), is the lower secondary phase, either called a middle school or junior high school. A middle school is for students sixth grade, seventh grade and eighth grade and a junior high school is only for students in seventh and eighth grade.
In 11th Grade, ages of the students average at around 16-17. 11th Grade is when Palestinian students do their final tests for most of the subjects for their high school diploma. Many students consider it to be the hardest, and most stressful year. In most schools, they do the final test for every subject besides English, math, and Arabic.
An elective course is one chosen by a student from a number of optional subjects or courses in a curriculum, as opposed to a required course which the student must take. While required courses (sometimes called "core courses" or "general education courses") are deemed essential for an academic degree, elective courses tend to be more specialized.
