The original board and batten post office from Headsville, West Virginia, in service from 1860 to 1914, was purchased by the Smithsonian Institution in 1971, disassembled and moved to Washington, D.C., reassembled and opened as an example of a country store-post office for the Smithsonian's 125th anniversary in 1971.
The magazine was first published by the Philatelic Press on 20 September 1913 [1] before being suspended for five weeks at the outbreak of the First World War after which it was taken over by F. Hugh Vallancey in January 1915. Yearbooks were published for 1925, 1926-1927 and 1928–1929.

The Philatelic International's organ was the journal Esperanto: Radio de Filintern. It was an insert included in the monthly magazine Soviet Philatelist or Soviet Collector. [2] Its Editor was a prominent Russian philatelist L. K. Eichfuss. The first issue of the journal appeared in January 1925. [1]
