    Thanks, Joinam, excellent comparison. I guess I agree that the cost of living in San Diego is a bit lower (depending for me on the rents at the lower end of the scale) for those reasons. Parking costs can be an important factor, but in neither place do you absolutely need a vehicle. Certainly the climate is nicer.
