Hippocrates of Kos (/ h ɪ ˈ p ɒ k r ə t iː z /, Ancient Greek: Ἱπποκράτης ὁ Κῷος, romanized: Hippokrátēs ho Kôios; c. 460 – c. 370 BC), also known as Hippocrates II, was a Greek physician and philosopher of the classical period who is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine.
Conceiving God not to exist would be not conceiving God at all, as it would conceive a being less than perfect, which would not be God. Hippocrates concludes that the sacred disease is proof that the brain has the greatest power over man. Through this part of the body, air from breathing first enters. When the disease dilutes the mind to the point where phlegm in the veins increases sufficiently, causing air blockage, is when the patient begins to suffer and possibly die.
Hippocrates was a physician who believed that the brain was the center of thought, intelligence, and emotion.
