Shiv Nadar University, Chennai (SNU Chennai) is a private university located on SH-49A in Kalavakkam village near Thiruporur, around 20 km south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. It was launched in October 2020, the second university to be set up by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, following Shiv Nadar University, Dadri in Uttar Pradesh .

SSN comes under Anna University and is a full fledged engineering collge (with several branches). SNU is a private university with colleges in Noida and Chennai. SNU Chennai runs just three computer science branches (plus one Bsc). While they share the same campus (being owned by the Shiv Nadar foundation), they are very different entities.
