John Myers Swan (September 11, 1860 – November 11, 1919) was an American surgeon, a founding member of the China Medical Missionary Association, and a pioneer in medical missionary work in China. He served as the superintendent of Canton Hospital and was the first president of the South China Medical College.

A Florida man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly tried to kill his wife on Christmas Day due to "financial and health issues," authorities said.
He attended medical school at Trinity College Dublin in Dublin but earned his degree from St. Thomas's Hospital, London, England graduating in 1945. Swan was also an intern and junior resident at St. Thomas's Hospital from 1945 to 1946. He then entered the Royal Air Force medical service from 1946 to 1948, being stationed in Iraq. [8]
