Alice in Borderland (Japanese: 今際の国のアリス, Hepburn: Imawa no Kuni no Arisu) is a Japanese suspense manga series written and illustrated by Haro Aso.It was first serialized in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine Shōnen Sunday S from November 2010 to March 2015, and later moved to Weekly Shōnen Sunday, where it ran from April 2015 to March 2016.
Launched on October 14 (#46, 2020 of Weekly Shōnen Sunday), the first volume of the manga tankobon was shipped out on December 11, one day after Alice in Borderland premiered. The manga series ended on January 20, 2021 (#8, 2021 of the magazine). The second and final volume of tankobon was released on February 18, 2021.
The manga was also given two major adaptations, an original video animation series [7] and a live-action television series. [8] Following Alice in Borderland ' s completion, Asō intended to retire from drawing, though he came out of retirement to draw a spin-off after the television series' release.
