  3. 1. The main language of the forum is English. This means that most posts about LibriVox, questions about how it works, etc. should all be in English. The reason is that most of our moderators are English-speaking, and we need to be able to answer questions, and monitor what's going on on the forum.

So, for you, everything we have on librivox which has been written by somebody who died before or in 1944 is public domain for you and you can download it legally. Almost all of our books state the author and his/her year of death.

    It's the apps developer's responsibility to make sure and explain how to use their app. It is no different whether you download a book from LV or from somewhere else. This is my personal view on the matter, but I own an iPhone, so I have some idea about how many audiobooks apps I've had to download already...

We do prefer that people acknowledge that these are LibriVox files, but we can't and don't enforce that (public domain means people don't have to acknowledge us).
