The Fibonacci sequence is frequently referenced in the 2001 book The Perfect Spiral by Jason S. Hornsby. A youthful Fibonacci is one of the main characters in the novel Crusade in Jeans (1973). He was left out of the 2006 movie version, however. The Fibonacci sequence and golden ratio are briefly described in John Fowles's 1985 novel A Maggot.
According to author Leon Harkleroad, "Some of the most misguided attempts to link music and mathematics have involved Fibonacci numbers and the related golden ratio." [61] With few exceptions, numerators for the meter signatures (over 100) in Karlheinz Stockhausen's Klavierstück IX are either Fibonacci or Lucas numbers. [62]
Padovan is also the author of the book Proportion: science, philosophy, architecture (1999) on the mathematics and philosophy of architectural proportion and proportion systems. [7] One of his arguments in the book is that the use of the golden ratio in architecture is modern, rather than being used for this purpose by the ancient Greeks. [2]
Both the Fibonacci sequence and the sequence of Lucas numbers can be used to generate approximate forms of the golden spiral (which is a special form of a logarithmic spiral) using quarter-circles with radii from these sequences, differing only slightly from the true golden logarithmic spiral.
In mathematics, the Fibonacci sequence is a sequence in which each number is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. Numbers that are part of the Fibonacci sequence are known as Fibonacci numbers , commonly denoted F n .

The petals of his "bloom" sculptures are placed 137.5° (golden angle) apart — based on properties from the golden ratio and the Fibonacci Sequence — in order to create the spiral effect when spun. His sculptures are 3D printed and are composed mostly of plywood, polypropylene, and brass.
A Fibonacci spiral approximates the golden spiral using quarter-circle arcs inscribed in squares derived from the Fibonacci sequence. A golden spiral with initial radius 1 is the locus of points of polar coordinates ( r , θ ) {\displaystyle (r,\theta )} satisfying r = φ 2 θ / π , {\displaystyle r=\varphi ^{2\theta /\pi },} where φ ...
