South Fork Kentucky River is a river in Kentucky in the United States. [1] It is a fork of the Kentucky River that it joins just downstream of Beattyville . [ 1 ] It is approximately 30 mi (48 km) long.

[3] Its headwaters (of Gum Fork) are 2.7 miles (4.3 km) into Jackson County, Kentucky, and its mouth is 2 miles (3.2 km) over the county line into Owsley County, the river itself spending 3.5 miles (5.6 km) in Owsley.
