List of Superfund sites The Brio Superfund site is a former industrial location in Harris County, Texas , at the intersection of Beamer Road and Dixie Farm Road, about 16 miles (26 km) southeast of downtown Houston and adjacent to the Dixie Oil Processors Superfund site.
More than 100 are in the "Houston Heights" neighborhood whose borders are, approximately, Highway I-10 on the South, I-610 on the North, 45 on the East and Durham on the West. The "inner Harris County" area is defined as the rest of the area within the Interstate 610 loop; "outer Harris County" is defined as the rest of Harris County.
The Brownfield Revitalization and Environmental Restoration Act, passed by the Bush Administration in 2002, granted additional funding for clean-up. The European Union has both the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund to aid in the remediation of these brownfield sites. [4]
