Seven years later as a child, Trunks, already able to turn Super Saiyan at his age, fights against Majin Buu by using the fusion technique with his best friend Goten to form the composite being Gotenks (ゴテンクス, Gotenkusu).
Alerted by Gohan's ki signal disappearing, Trunks awakens and heads into the city only to find Gohan's corpse lying in the ground. Trunks screams in despair and rage, finally becoming a Super Saiyan in the process. Three years pass and against Bulma's warnings, Trunks fights the Androids by himself.
Android #18 fights with Super Saiyan Vegeta and wins easily. Super Saiyan Trunks tries to help his father, but is also easily defeated and gets his sword broken in the process. Piccolo and Tien then get beaten down effortlessly by Android #17, while Krillin stays behind and watches the horror, and Android #16 simply observes the nearby birds.
Trunks gets Goten in a stranglehold, and Goten cannot seem to break free. Desperate, he transforms into a Super Saiyan and busts loose. Trunks is angry, because all of the Saiyan warriors agreed not to transform during the Tournament. To embarrass him for this, Trunks decides to fight the rest of the way without using his left arm.
Gohan, Future Trunks, Krillin, Master Roshi and Oolong accompany Vegeta onto the ship. On New Vegeta, Vegeta meets Paragus' son, Broly, who joins him in tracking the Super Saiyan. Gohan, Trunks and Krillin explore New Vegeta and discover that it is uninhabited except for alien slaves who reveal that a Super Saiyan destroyed their civilization.
Trunks is surprised by his alien opponent's lethality and is forced to transform into a Super Saiyan to kill him. Trunks is then struck down by an unknown foe while Gohan continues his fight with Bujin until he discovers Trunks and Krillin have been incapacitated. Bojack arrives and tells Gohan about his plans to conquer the universe.
Kaiō-shin and Gowas travel to Trunks' timeline where Gowas is seriously wounded while trying to talk Goku Black out of his plan. Having returned, Vegeta fights Goku Black in Super Saiyan God form while briefly switching to Super Saiyan Blue when he attacks. Goku tries to lock Zamas away using the Mafū-ba, but forgot the talisman to seal it ...
