Before the start of the Official World Golf Ranking in 1986, unofficial end of year world golf rankings were published by Mark McCormack in his World of Professional Golf annual from 1968 to 1985. McCormack's rankings listed Jack Nicklaus as the number one from 1968 to 1977, Tom Watson from 1978 to 1982 and Seve Ballesteros from 1983 to 1985.

Gannon Buhr is a professional disc golfer who won his first major at the age of 17 in 2022, becoming the second youngest player to win a major and the youngest to win the United States Disc Golf Championship. [1] [2] [3] Buhr won his second major by winning the 2024 European Open in Tampere, Finland. [4]
The following years he has gone up in rating at a fast rate, until breaking the 1050-barrier in March 2019. In the rating update of October 2018, McMahon was the highest rated player in the world, tied with Paul McBeth at a rating of 1048.
