Howth Head (/ ˈ h oʊ θ / HOHTH; Ceann Bhinn Éadair in Irish) is a peninsula northeast of the city of Dublin in Ireland, within the governance of Fingal County Council. Entry to the headland is at Sutton while the village of Howth and the harbour are on the north-eastern face.
The school at Bellevue House, eventually St. Catherine's, comprised primary school facilities for boys and girls, and from 1924, a secondary school for girls, and was run by a Mrs Helen McAlister, a Mrs Watson and some Christian Brothers (it also held a vacation residence for the Christian Brothers during World War II).
Howth is located on the peninsula of Howth Head, which begins around 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) east-north-east of Dublin's GPO, on the north side of Dublin Bay.The village itself is located just over 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) by road from Dublin city centre (the ninth of a series of eighteenth-century milestones from the Dublin General Post Office (GPO) is in the village itself).

Sutton Park School was founded in 1957 as one of the first multi-denominational schools in Ireland. One of the founders was Rosaleen Mills who was an Irish activist and educator. She served here as vice-principal for some years. [1] The original school building is a late Georgian House known as St Fintan House whose previous owners had sold it on.
The local soccer club is Howth Celtic, with grounds located opposite St.Fintan's primary school on Carrickbrack Road. There is a local scout group which meets in St. Mary's Church of Ireland Parish Hall in Howth. [citation needed] Red Rock is a trailhead for the Cliff Walk which navigates a large section of Howth Head and ends at Howth village.

The Hill of Howth Tramway, 1907. On 1 October 1958, Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ) took over GNR(I)'s operations in the Republic of Ireland, including the Howth Tram. [3] A year later, the tramway was closed down. It was initially replaced by two CIÉ bus routes – numbers 87 (Sutton to Ceanchor Road) and 88 (Howth to Windgate Road). [4]
