The person that started this discussion asked for MS Authenticator App which works on Windows 10. I answer: Instead of using the Microsoft Authenticator you can use other software that runs on Windows and has the same purpose - generating time-based on-time passwords. I gave an example - the TOTP Authenticator from Microsoft Store.

This setting in Windows 11 is at Windows Settings > Apps > Advanced App Settings > Choose Where to get apps > Anywhere. If that's already set then you may have bought a PC that has S mode, which only allows Store apps to be installed.
