Pierce County is a county in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 7,317. [1] Its county seat is Pierce. [2] The county was formed in 1859, and was named for US President Franklin Pierce. [3] [4] Pierce County is part of the Norfolk, NE Micropolitan Statistical Area.
The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.97. The median age was 40.2 years. 26% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23.9% were from 25 to 44; 24.6% were from 45 to 64; and 18.8% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the city was 49.8% male and 50.2% female.
