Charles P. Buchanan was a manager at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York City. During his time as a manager, Buchanan also co-founded the Powell-Buchanan Publishing Company, along with Adam Clayton Powell Jr., with its most notable publication being The People's Voice.
The serial entrepreneur Jay Faggen led the project to open the Golden Gate Ballroom, which took place in October 1939. [1] [4] The site had formerly been the Douglas Theater. [9] By mid-1940, it was taken over by the same owner and manager as the Savoy Ballroom.

The Savoy Theatre was a Broadway theatre at 112 West 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It opened in 1900 (for its first few months as Schley Music Hall ). It was converted to a cinema around 1910, until it was closed in early 1952 and then demolished.
