Ave Kallu (transl. The Similar Eyes) is a 1967 Indian Telugu-language mystery thriller film directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar and produced by AVM Productions, starring Krishna and Kanchana. It was simultaneously made in Tamil as Athey Kangal, with Kanchana reprising her role. [1] The film was released on 14 December 1967. [2]

Its script was completed by May 1965. Since Bhakta Prahlada and Ave Kallu were simultaneously produced by AVM Productions, principal photography and post-production were delayed and lasted for one-and-a-half years. Bhakta Prahlada, released on 12 January 1967, was a commercial success and completed a hundred-day run in theatres.

Before AVM Productions remade Deivapiravi in Hindi as Bindya in the same year, Ganesan advised them not to remake the film as he felt it would not come well. [11] However AVM ignored him and went on to make the film in Hindi. Bindya was a failure and many years later, M. Saravanan expressed regret for ignoring Ganesan's advice. [12]
