Lewisham College is a further education college in the London Borough of Lewisham, south-east London. It was established in 1990, having previously been known as SELTEC (South East London College of Technology [ 1 ] ) since the early 1970s, which was run by the Inner London Education Authority.

The school year coincides with the calendar year, and the first term begins on January 2 (unless it is a weekend or a Monday). The school year comprises four terms of 10 weeks each. In 2004, the College was awarded Beacon status.The college was the first of its kind to be judged outstanding under the new Ofsted inspection régime. In 2008 St. Luke's College, (formerly St. Mary and St. Joseph's RC School) in Sidcup became part of Christ the King Sixth Form College, being re-opened at Christ the King: St Mary's.
Each term consists of ten school weeks. Term 1 starts the day immediately after New Year's Day. If the first school day is a Thursday or a Friday, it is not counted as a school week. After term 1, there is a break of a week, called the March Holidays. Thereafter, term 2 commences and is followed by a break of four weeks, the June Holidays.

Southwark College merged with Lewisham College in 2012, having previously existed as separate institutions. [3] Between 2013 and 2014 the college was branded as LeSoCo, before this was dropped. [4] It was then known as Lewisham Southwark College between 2014 and 2018, becoming part of Newcastle College Group in 2017. [5]
