Alex Rider is a British spy thriller television series based on the novel series of the same name by Anthony Horowitz. Adapted by Guy Burt, it stars Otto Farrant as the eponymous character, who is recruited by a subdivision of MI6 as a teenage spy to undertake espionage missions. The series is Amazon's first scripted British Amazon Original series.
Otto Farrant (born 13 November 1996) is an English actor. He is best known for his portrayal of the titular character in Amazon Prime's spy thriller series Alex Rider (2020–2024). He previously had supporting television roles in The White Queen (2013), War & Peace (2016) and Mrs. Wilson (2018).
Alex Rider is the main character of the series. Alex is an early teenage spy recruited by MI6. Known for his intelligence, athletic and fighting skills, all of which were trained by his uncle and the SAS, Alex is seen demonstrating karate, pickpocketing, climbing, surfing, swimming and more throughout the series.
In 2005, Alex Pettyfer was cast as Alex Rider. He was picked out of 500 hopefuls who auditioned for the role.
