The 2024 BWF World Tour Finals (officially was the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was the final tournament of the 2024 BWF World Tour. It has been held from 11 to 15 December 2024 in Hangzhou, China and features a total prize pool of $2,500,000. [1]
The BWF World Tour Finals, officially HSBC BWF World Tour Finals, which succeeds BWF Super Series Finals, is an annual season finale badminton tournament which is held every December of a year where the players with the most points from that calendar year's events of the BWF World Tour compete for total prize money of at least US$ 2,500,000.
The highest points and prize pool are offered at the Super 1000 level (including the World Tour Finals). One other category of the tournament, the BWF Tour Super 100 (level 6), also offers BWF World Tour ranking points. It still acts as an important part of the pathway and entry point for players into the BWF Tour tournaments.
The 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024 for sponsorship reasons) was the 33rd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 30th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF).
At the end of the BWF World Tour circuit, top eight players/pairs in the BWF World Tour standing of each discipline, with the maximum of two players/pairs from the same member association, are required to play in a final tournament known as the BWF World Tour Finals. [1] It offers minimum total prize money of US$1,500,000. [2]
