State Road 62 (SR 62) in the U.S. state of Indiana is an east–west route that travels 204 miles (328 km) from the Illinois state line in the southwest corner of Indiana to the Louisville, Kentucky area, then northeast toward the Cincinnati, Ohio area.
The route primarily runs through Evansville, Indiana, reaching from Interstate 69 on the east side of the city to the Posey County line west of the city limits. West of US 41, the expressway is signed as Indiana State Road 62 (SR 62). East of US 41, it is signed as Indiana State Road 66 (SR 66).
Another exception to the system was SR 265; this highway was an eighteen-mile-long (29 km) extension that existed between Interstate 265 (I-265) and I-65 and is over 100 miles (160 km) east of either SR 65 or SR 165, both located in Southwestern Indiana near Evansville.
State Road 66 begins at the eastern end of a toll bridge over the Wabash River in New Harmony and ends at U.S. Route 150 east of Hardinsburg.It is a divided limited-access highway in the metropolitan Evansville area, where it is part of the Lloyd Expressway, and also between the unincorporated communities of Yankeetown and Hatfield.
This area is arguably one of the most diverse shopping centers in Evansville. Red Bank Road, one of the main roads in the community, is rumored to be the oldest road within the city limits of Evansville. [citation needed]. The Lloyd Expressway passes through just north of the community, giving direct access to Indiana State Road 62.
Sectional 62 (New Washington) vs. Sectional 64 (Tecumseh): Trinity Lutheran (10-11) is a slight favorite in Sectional 62. Evansville Christian (21-2) is a considerable favorite in Sectional 64.
The Wabash Memorial Bridge (Wabash Memorial Toll Bridge in INDOT documents) carries vehicular traffic across the Wabash River between Indiana State Road 62 and Illinois Route 141. The 4,932-foot-long (1,503 m), two-lane bridge is located in both Posey County, Indiana, and White County, Illinois.
