The 805-acre (3.258 km 2) island is shaped like the Big Dipper and is one of three Bass Islands located at the center of a group of 23 smaller islands. It is located in Put-in-Bay Township, Ottawa County, Ohio. Some of its more famous neighbors are South Bass Island, with the town of Put-in-Bay, Kelleys Island, and Pelee Island.
In 1952–1959, as well as 1963, the island held road races around a 3-mile (4.8 km) course. In 2011, the Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion returned to the island. The temporary road course set up at the Put-in-Bay Airport during the event was a key step in pointing the way to the return of real vintage sports car racing to the island for 2012. [22]
As of the census [3] of 2010, there were 633 people, 313 households, and 184 families residing in the township. The racial makeup of the township was 99.1% White, 0.3% Asian, Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.5% of the population.
Approximately 3.7 miles (6.0 km) long and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) wide and comprises 1,588.3 acres (642.8 hectares), the island is separated by an isthmus into a smaller, residential northeastern side (East Point) [1] and a southwestern side that contains an airfield and the village center of Put-in-Bay, the island's only incorporated community.

The Sandusky route further expanded to include regular service to Kelleys Island, and Put-in-Bay starting in 2006. Service to Cedar Point started in 2016, with regular service to the islands in 2017.
Ellijay (sometimes formerly spelled "Elejoy") is the anglicized form or transliteration of the Cherokee name Elatseyi, meaning "new ground". [9] Other sources say it means "green place". [10] Gilmer County was organized by territory cut from Cherokee County in 1832, and Ellijay was designated as its county seat in 1834. [11]
East Ellijay is a city in Gilmer County, Georgia, United States. The population was 546 at the 2010 census, [ 4 ] down from 707 in 2000.
