Leonard Irwin Thompson (July 28, 1952 – August 15, 2021 [1]) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL), spending his entire career with the Detroit Lions (1975–1986). Thompson was an eighth-round pick in the 1975 NFL draft out of Oklahoma State.
