Grand Spiritual Lodge No. 1 (Spanish: Gran Logia Espiritual Número 1), also known as Casa de las Almas ('house of the souls'), is a historic building and Spiritualist meeting hall located in Santurce in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. [1] It was designed by Luis F. Delgado and Juan Rivera Paris using a simple but elegant Neoclassical style.
Constructed in 1521, Casa Blanca served as the initial fortification for the San Juan islet and was intended to be the residence of Juan Ponce de León and his family. However, de León passed away during an expedition to Florida without ever residing in the house. Subsequently, it sheltered his descendants until the mid-18th century.
In Puerto Rico, turrón is called turrón de ajonjolí (sesame turrón). Puerto Rican turrón is made with toasted black and white sesame seeds, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, bound together by caramelized brown sugar and honey.
