In 2010, Dutch operator VEON agreed to acquire most of the telecom assets of Orascom, including Jazz, in a $6.5 billion deal, creating the world's fifth-largest mobile network operator by subscriber base. In December 2023, Telenor ASA decided to sell its subsidiary, Telenor Pakistan, to PTCL for $385 million. [4] As of November 2024, Telenor Pakistan has a total subscriber base of 43 million in Pakistan, among which 25 million are 4G/LTE subscribers. With a market share of 22%, it is currently the third largest mobile phone network in Pakistan. [5]
