Carolina Crown won the 2013 Drum Corps International World Class Championship, the first former Open Class/Division II corps to do so. Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps marches in the Bristol, Rhode Island Fourth of July Parade in 2017.
In 2004, the Division I membership limit was increased from 128 to 135. The membership limit for World Class, the new Open Class, and International Class was increased to 150 in 2007.
