Have gone through multiple car phone mounts for whatever reason. Gf says it's cause my phone is too big, it's a galaxy S22 ultra, but I get the feeling the Texas heat also isn't kind to them either. Just wanting to find something sturdy that'll last or can be easily fixed, I do a lot of driving each week and not being able to use my GPS to deal ...
Really depends on the car. But MagSafe is the way to go imo. Vent mounts are good at keeping the phone cool. Window mounts typically keep the phone in direct sunlight, but this obviously won't be an issue if you're somewhere it's cold all the time. Very circumstantial on what the best mount is for your specific question.
I got the spigen magsafe mount for my car and the spigen magsafe phone case, and it has been perfection. You still keep the ability to charge wireless and power share. Also magnetic wireless power banks have been awesome for reducing my clutter.
Really handy having the same mount in all the cars, and my wife's phone fits it as well as mine, you just need to put a thin sliver of metal on the back of the phone. They come self-adhesive, but I just put it between the phone and the case, and it works perfectly.

The X-mount for phones looks great, but I’ve seen phones escape them. One of my buds caught his phone as it flew out at 50 kph on his motorcycle! The phone mounts that cup the top and bottom are outstanding and absolutely bulletproof. The new wireless charging mount also looks amazing, but it’s not quite ready for prime time.
I have one that has a little sensor on the front. When you hold your phone up to it the arms open, and you set your phone onto the little ledge on the bottom of it, and the arms automatically close to hold it in place. It also wirelessly charges my phone. I really like it but my vents kind of spin around so I need to find a better way to mount it.
The best I found after like 4 "bad" ones is the magsafe ESR car mount, paired with the halolock Universal ring, this thing is so strong, when I pull it out a bit too strong, the whole air vent comes out lmao
I use the iOttie iTap 2 magnetic mount. Not for everyone because it does require sticking stuff to your phone - it has a clear sheet you put on your phone and a plate you stick to the clear sheet. If you have a case, it comes with an additional plate to stick to the case. I super glued mine to the case so it stays on firmly.
The suspension in my car is particularly hard, so the vent-mounted ones were absolutely shite. They’d just catapult my phone across the cabin at the slightest bump. I settled on a Quad Lock mount and the associated phone case. The mount sticks to the window, and then the phone case locks to the mount. A little on the pricey side but it’s ...
