The NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling title that has existed since the 1930s. [1] Though its exact date of creation isn't known, it is among the oldest championships used in professional wrestling today.
Texas teams have reached the NCAA Championship semifinals five times (1993, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2019) and prior to the formation of the tournament when the final standings were determined by a poll, the Longhorns finished fourth or better five times, including 1946 (4th), 1952 (tie 4th), 1955 (2nd), 1957 (3rd), and 1960 (tie 4th).
Since the establishment of the team in 1893, Texas has appeared in 57 bowl games with a record of 31-24-2. Included in these games are two BCS National Championship Game appearances. On October 13, 2020, at UWN Primetime Live, David Marquez revealed the UWN World Championship for the first time. [1] Marquez re-announced a tournament of eight-man to crown the inaugural champion, when the participants of the tournaments would be revealed on the October 20 edition of UWN Primetime Live. [1]

The Sportatorium, located in downtown Dallas, Texas, was a barn-like arena used primarily for professional wrestling events. The building, which stood at 1000 S. Industrial Blvd, or the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and Cadiz Street (near the I-30/I-35E Interchange), had a seating capacity of approximately 4,500.
