Cart7881 hit the nail right on the head. I myself own a 2012 GMC Canyon with the 3.7 L ,4x4, Ext Cab, standard Z85 suspension. I bought Canyon over a Colorado because the GMC is the top of the truck line. The essential difference, especially on this model is the GMC has nicer trim. Not that it's worlds apart from the Chevy, but a little nicer.
Diesel, lockers, styling and more put Chevy’s ZR2 on top for stock, off-road pickups. For decades, the Toyota Tacoma has ruled the midsize market, however, its time may come to an end with new competitors like the 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 equipped with the 2.8L Duramax diesel engine. I called the local Chevy dealership today; they said a diagnostic exam will be $150. Said it could be something with the ignition, anti-theft module, etc. The guy I talked to was familiar with the problem. After looking through some forums, it seems like this is a reoccurring issue with Chevy.
For example, a 2007 Colorado with the 3.7L engine, M30 or MA5 tranny would use file 07_GRP08_All Engines and 07_GRP08_All Transmissions. Another GM fail; no truck engine should have less torque than horsepower.
So I am having the same issue with my 2006 Colorado 3.5L 4x4. Started a week ago. Got in the truck, turned the key, no start/no crank. All interior and dash lights work and the addition of the passlock illumination…solid not blinking. My first thought was “battery”. Removed it, had it checked and it had a bad cell so I purchased a new one.
