M-99 is a north–south state trunkline highway in the Lower Peninsula of the US state of Michigan.It runs from the Ohio state border, where it connects to State Route 15 (SR 15), north to Lansing, where it terminates at a junction with Interstate 496 (I-496).
This highway gave direct road access to the city of Adrian approximately 30 miles (48 km) to the east. [19] In 1940, the current route of M-99 was established slightly west of the community, and it provides direct road access to Hillsdale and Jonesville to the northwest and to the state of Ohio to the south. Coldwater is accessible from exits 10 (BL I-69, Fenn Road), 13 (US 12/BL I-69), and 16 (Jonesville Road). The city has expanded since 1967 when I-69 was completed in the area to incorporate the urban sprawl at exit 13. BL I-69 runs through downtown Coldwater. US 12 continues west to Sturgis and east toward the Hillsdale area.
Marquette County built a mainline road from Marquette west to Michigamme near the county line, this road generally followed what is now known as County Road 492 (CR 492). About 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Marquette on CR 492 is a historical marker at the site of the first center line painted in 1917 along Dead Man's Curve. [ 6 ]
