Gyaru (ギャル) pronounced [ɡʲa̠ꜜɾɯ̟ᵝ], is a Japanese fashion subculture for young women, often associated with gaudy fashion styles and dyed hair. [1] The term gyaru is a Japanese transliteration of the English slang word gal.
