Perry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee.As of the 2020 census, the population was 8,366, with an average population density of 20.2 persons per square mile (7.8 persons/km 2), making it the least densely populated county in Tennessee.
On February 24, 1807, Congress again abolished the two districts and created the United States Circuit for the District of Tennessee. On March 3, 1837, Congress assigned the judicial district of Tennessee to the Eighth Circuit. On June 18, 1839, by 5 Stat. 313, Congress divided Tennessee into three districts, Eastern, Middle, and Western.
The first courthouse in Linden was a log cabin, built circa 1845, after Decatur County was split off from Perry County and Linden became the county seat. [2] That log courthouse was replaced in 1849-50 by a new two-story wood-frame building. The second courthouse was burned down by Union Army soldiers on May 12, 1863. [3]

Linden is a town in and the county seat of Perry County, Tennessee, United States. [7] The population was 1,015 at the 2000 census and 908 at the 2010 showing a loss of 107. Linden was officially incorporated in 1850. [8] Linden is served by Perry County Airport, located 3.5 miles to the southwest.
