The Papua conflict (Indonesian: Konflik Papua) is an ongoing conflict in Western New Guinea (Papua) between Indonesia and the Free Papua Movement (Indonesian: Organisasi Papua Merdeka, OPM).
The referendum and its conduct had been specified in the New York Agreement; Article 17 of which in part says: "Indonesia will invite the Secretary-General to appoint a Representative who" ...
