Sherman Township is one of twenty-four townships in Gage County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 204 at the 2020 census. A 2021 estimate placed the township's population at 202. [1] The Village of Virginia lies within the township.
Before the southwest corner of Gage County was home to Odell, it was part of the 10-by-25-mile (16 by 40 km) Otoe Indian Reservation. [4] Odell was laid out in 1880 when the railroad was extended to that point. The community was named after LeGrand Odell, an original owner of the town site. [5]
