The Killers are an American rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2001 by Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards, bass) and Dave Keuning (lead guitar, backing vocals). After going through a number of short-term bassists and drummers in their early days, both Mark Stoermer (bass, rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion) joined the band in 2002.
With its '80s synth rock and new wave flair, the track harkens back to the band's early days in the 'Hot Fuss' era.

The song continues on with The Killers' tradition of releasing a Christmas song every year, and is the fourth consecutive annual Christmas song since 2006, the others being "A Great Big Sled", "Don't Shoot Me Santa" and "Joseph, Better You Than Me".
