Ian Patrick McLagan (/ m ə k ˈ l æ ɡ ən /; 12 May 1945 – 3 December 2014) was an English keyboardist, best known as a member of the rock bands Small Faces and Faces.He also collaborated with the Rolling Stones and led his own band from the late 1970s.
Tracks 13-16 are from Ooh La La (1973). Track 17 was from the 1973 single. Track 18 was from the 1975 single. Track 19 was previously unissued. Tracks 1, 4, 6, 8, 12, 13, 16-18 also appear on Snakes and Ladders / The Best of Faces (1976).
First Step is the debut studio album by the English rock band Faces, released on 27 March 1970 by Warner Bros. Records.The album was released only a few months after the Faces had formed from the ashes of the Small Faces (from which Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan hailed) and The Jeff Beck Group (from which Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood hailed).
Their hits included "All or Nothing", "Sha-La-La-La-Lee", "Itchycoo Park" and "Tin Soldier". In 2007, Small Faces were honoured by Westminster Council with a commemorative plaque placed at what was Don Arden's offices in Carnaby Street, the band's "spiritual home". Jones himself unveiled the plaque.
