The fifth season of the television drama series Wentworth premiered on Showcase in Australia on 4 April 2017, having previously aired on SoHo, and concluded on 20 June 2017. It was executive produced by FremantleMedia's Director of Drama, Jo Porter. The season comprised 12 episodes.
Lara Radulovich and David Hannam developed Wentworth from Reg Watson's original concept. The series is set in the modern day and begins with Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) early days in prison. During the course of the series, 100 episodes of Wentworth aired over eight seasons, between 1 May 2013 and 26 October 2021.
She is seen in the background throughout the show. In season 1, she helps Franky get revenge on Jacs. In season 3, she is one of Lucy Gambaro's henchwomen, along with Stella Radic. In season 5, she helps hold Linda Miles hostage in Ferguson's "kangaroo court". In season 6, she is part of Vicky Kosta's fight club, where she fights and loses to Ruby.
The second season began on Channel 5 on 3 September 2014 and season Three, which commenced broadcast on 22 July 2015, concluded with a two-hour season finale which consisted of episodes 11 and 12 of the season on 30 September 2015.
