Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., commonly known as Columbia Pictures, is an American film production and distribution company that is the flagship unit of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, [2] a division of Sony Entertainment's Sony Pictures, which is one of the "Big Five" film studios and a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Sony Group Corporation.
Hanna-Barbera Home Video released the film on VHS on January 26, 1989. [5] A DVD release of the film was announced by Warner Home Video on August 25, 2004, for a December 7 release date to coincide with the third season DVD, [6] but the film's DVD release was delayed. On October 28, 1986, Harvey Films filed a lawsuit against Columbia Pictures claiming that the logo for the film Ghostbusters was similar to the logo for The Ghostly Trio, specifically the ghost in the logo was similar to Fatso, and Columbia argued that Fatso was only a portion of their, at the time, renewed trademark, and there were three ghosts instead of just one.
