Lerios was born, in Palo Alto, California, [2] and entered the music industry in 1971 with the San Francisco Bay area band Stoneground. At the time, Stoneground was signed with Warner Bros., and Lerios was 20 years old. After leaving the band in 1973, Lerios, along with fellow Stoneground members Steve Price and David Jenkins, formed Pablo Cruise.
Stoneground also performed in the 1972 horror film Dracula A.D. 1972 (starring Christopher Lee). [ 4 ] Alongside guitarist Dave Jenkins , Lerios and bassist Bud Cockrell , Price was a member of Pablo Cruise at its conception in 1973 and stayed until early 1981.
