Joseph Henry Davies, who had served as a missionary in southern India, purchased the site for the school — it was adjacent to the Elsternwick railway station, and had been a small lolly shop [3] — for £25 on 16 April and employed his sister and two brothers as teachers.

Glen Eira College (GEC) is a co-educational, public secondary school located in Caulfield East, Victoria, Australia. [1] It is situated on Booran Road and backs on to Caulfield Racecourse Reserve . The current Booran Road school was originally Caulfield High School, which opened in 1962.

It would be good if the page indicated how much subsidy the school recieves from State and Federal governments. Also, isn't Nick Cave one of the alumni? According to the Estimated total of ERI funding 2000 Caulfield Grammar School received: $2,134,444 and the Estimated total of ERI funding 2004 $6,573,791. This is Commonwealth (federal) funding.
