Shadybrook is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cherokee County, Texas, United States.The population was 1,967 at the 2010 census. [3]The CDP is located in the northwestern corner of the county adjacent to Lake Palestine, and takes its name from a gated community located on either side of Farm to Market Road 346. [4]
Shady Grove is an unincorporated community in Cherokee County, located in the U.S. state of Texas. [1] According to the Handbook of Texas , the community had a population of 30 in 2000. It is located within the Tyler-Jacksonville combined statistical area .
The community thrived, and in 1932, a nearby subdivision called Shady Shores began construction. The lake was enlarged in the late 1950s, becoming what is now known as Lewisville Lake . In 1960, the city leaders decided to incorporate – mostly to escape being annexed by Denton – and the subdivision's name became the name of a newly formed town.
