Roy Kent Head (January 9, 1941 – September 21, 2020) was an American singer, best known for his hit song "Treat Her Right". [1]Head and fellow high school student Tommy Bolton founded musical group The Traits in 1957, with the band, billed as Roy Head and the Traits, scoring the international hit "Treat Her Right" in 1965.
In 1965 the band signed with producer Huey Meaux [2] of Houston. "Treat Her Right" was recorded at Gold Star Studios in Houston, [3] with Head on vocals, Johnny Clark on lead guitar, Frank Miller on rhythm guitar, Gene Kurtz on bass, Dan Buie on keyboards, Danny Gomez and Tommy May on tenor sax, Johnny Gibson on trumpet, and Jerry Gibson on drums.
The video is roughly one hour long, but contains 30 minutes of singing, either by the group of children accompanying him, or by Mr. T himself. He sings "Treat Your Mother Right (Treat Her Right)", and also raps a song about growing up in the ghetto and praising God. The raps in this video were written by Ice-T. [37]
Filmed in 1977, the opening credit sequence for the first three series feature Siegfried and James driving around the Dales and, at one point, sharing a laugh in the car. It is an excerpt from the Series 1 episode "Calf Love". The bridge they drive over is in Langthwaite. It is between there and Feetham that they splash their way through the ford.
