Regular dragon sword is better than d long. If you've done heroes quest but won't do mm1 for a bit I highly suggest replacing the longsword with a dmace. It even has a decent spec for when you don't want to bring dds. You will definitely want a dds though for the spec at some point in your journey.
Dragon dagger still hits higher so no. You'd think. depends on goals. for 3 down yeah its a nice option. iirc beats fang for hitting baboons and effectively replaces the combo of dds+rapier. you might need to use a calc though to make sure everything lines up spec wise for core though.

The dagger is a direct upgrade it's well worth using. In a direct comparison yes. However, if you don't already have a berserker ring (i) or a fury (as opposed to a glory). You would get more str bonus with Dscim + Bring (i) + Fury, than you would with just Dagger + Glory. Toss in obsidian platelegs too if you can.

If main account: Just buy a Dragon dagger (p) on the GE. If Ironman: You need to use "Weapon Poision" on the Dragon Dagger. You need to add weapon poison to the dagger. If you want the highest poison it takes 82 Herblore. I’m assuming you’re an Ironman. Otherwise you can just buy one on the GE.

I’d probably just get monkey madness over with since it’s one of the better training weapons until you get a whip and even then it’s still great for str training. The dragon longsword is the better training option. Even for special attacks, I'd go with the dragon longsword. Its special attack is pretty good, and you don't have to waste time or effort switching to the dragon dagger for specials. "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update.
